Peter Stuyvesant, inspector general of New Netherlands, which, when the British took over, became New York! How do you like his pirate-y peg-leg?! |
I walked in a nearby park and took pix to show you. Did you get work done while the storm raged? I did a respectable word count every day. Here's looking to spring but still not putting away those boots!
What's your fave winter writing space? (Mine's a small front room with a good street view) Fave winter food to munch on while writing? (Mine's tamari almonds) Fave writing outfit? (Mine's jeans, a ski sweater and slippers).

That's what it looks like here too!
ReplyDeleteIt's strange. Here, in central Maine, we didn't get as much as expected. Some places got 2 feet, while others only got around 8ish inches. But today, it started to snow again...quarter-sized snowflakes. It was supposed to rain. :(
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! We just had rain as the storm moved north.
ReplyDeleteWe are in full spring mode down here in Texas so no snowed in writing sessions. When I'm writing I for sure need my coffee and my slippers. I try not to eat when I write so I don't get my keyboard all gummy. :)
ReplyDeleteI miss Texas so much.
DeleteWe only got 3 inches here in PA. We were so happy about that, too. I've had enough of winter. I'm a spring and fall person.
ReplyDeleteWe got a little over a foot of snow in Rochester, NY. It was due to a lake effect storm, but it arrived at the same time as the big one on the east coast. My favorite writing snack is Welch's fruit snack, especially the tropical fruit flavor. And I do my best work while wearing my pjs.
ReplyDeleteThat looks snowy all right! And it's perfect for February--unless you live where I live, then you're already digging out your shorts. Thanks for the glimpse of winter.
ReplyDeleteSeems we have a couple of PJ writers!
ReplyDeleteAnd Welches' Fruit snacks sound good.
Nice pictures. I usually write in the kitchen on my laptop, Drink lots of coffee in pj's.
ReplyDeleteAh, another PJ writer. And it seems that we like our kitchen tables. I do too.
ReplyDeleteCool pics! I grew up in Michigan and really miss the snow.
ReplyDeleteI love the pics and am sure glad you didn't suffer too much snow or any power outages. Congrats on keeping up the daily word counts. Those tamari almonds sound good! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so surreal. Boy, you guys got buried!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous! I know I shouldn't be, but those of us in the highly temperate Pacific Northwest miss getting snow :( Glad it wasn't too bad there and you got to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to write is on a farm or a ranch, with a big view and animals all around! Dogs and cats are the best companions. As for an outfit? Comfortable pajamas! :)
Beautiful pictures! We lucked out in Virginia to get only an inch or two from the monster storm that hit up north.
ReplyDeleteKiersi, I hear you. I miss my old dog. At some point I will get another one. It IS nice to write in the country (if you live in the city). Any switch is good sometimes. Yes, Cherie, I heard from my sister who lives down there that the light snow melted fast.
ReplyDeleteMmm ... no snow in Singapore, so I can't really say. But I do love writing in front of a window, looking out to trees. Those are lovely pictures, Catherine. I'd love to take a walk in a park in Winter!
ReplyDeleteClaudine, Singapore, sounds so exotic!
ReplyDeleteI'll give another nod to writing in PJs. I'm still in my PJs now (I only change when I have to go to work so that I don't scare people).
ReplyDeleteAnd favorite writing food is definitely coffee. I know it's liquid, but I go through it like food.
Fabulous snow shots!! Fav. writing space, comfy leather lounge chair with pen and paper, but alas I have to move to the computer desk. Best snack? Can I pick two? Chocolate and coffee. Fav. writing outfit? Jammies, definitely!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Snow is pretty but I'm not a winter person. Prefer spring. I work in sweat pants, t-shirt and in a bedroom I've converted to my writing room. Don't eat while working. Have to concentrate. :)
ReplyDeleteCandilynn, that leather couch sounds luxurious. Beverly, I wish I had your discipline of no snacking while writing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I do love the snow--but only when I'm inside the house all nice and cozy :)

Lovely photos, Catherine. Where I live in the UK we've had very little snowfall. I love writing with a massive thermal cup of coffee - either an Americano or a Hazelnut Latte.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know you were in the city. I commute into Manhattan to work, experienced some Metro-North problems the first business day after the storm, but it wasn't too bad. Got about a foot and a half in my neck of the woods (just north of the Bronx), which was beautiful till the next day, till it began melting and people (and their dogs) ruined it. :-)
