I just took a great trip to Cape Cod. Saw seals way up close, took a fast boat around the inlets, got a spa treatment, a psychic reading, read a bunch of awesome sci-fi stories from the Year's Best of 2013 and sat around a fire pit on the beach, telling scary stories with other inn guests. Now it's time for a brief blog vacay. I'll be checking in here and there to comment on other folks' blogs, and I'll be back to post again here on September 5th, when I feature Elizabeth Arroyo's new book!
Ruby IS appearing this week on Ciara Knight's new CK Giveaways, with a great Rafflecopter array of both of our books, so check in and enter to win that first fall read!
Happy Labor Day and summer's end. What are you up to during these last August days?

Happy Labor Day and summer's end. What are you up to during these last August days?
Congrats on the last getaway of the summer. I didn't get anywhere, but we did get a pool and that was heavenly.
ReplyDeleteI'm spending time with my daughter this week before she heads back to school on Tuesday.
Sounds good, Kelly. I'm spending time with my boys over Labor Day.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! My last vacation was 6 years ago - 3 weeks in Europe; London, Paris, Rome...*sigh* Have a great blog break :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious vacation! (I need one of those.) I loved the pic. Thanks for the generous rafflecopter giveaway! :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a relaxing vacation. Now, take a break and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI really, really want to visit New England and see the east coast. Never been there before. I did the other coast this summer and went to Vancouver, which was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sort of waiting out August and these high temps indoors, counting down the days to fall. :)
That sounds like a wonderful time! Enjoy your long weekend. I have absolutely nothing planned and I like it that way. :) Yay for Elizabeth! I'm very excited for her new book.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great break! I wish we hadn't started back to school before Labor Day, but school's back in full swing and crazy busy :)
ReplyDeleteGwen, 3 weeks in Europe is no slouch vacation!
ReplyDeleteChristine, nothing planned sounds fine too!
Meradeth, good luck with kids back in school--more time to write, eh?
LG-I really want to visit Vancouver!
Sounds like you had a great vacation! Have a great Labor Day weekend! I'll probably catch the City of Bones movie this weekend and maybe get some reading done. :)
ReplyDeleteCherie, I wanna see that movie too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture, Catherine! It makes me want to visit. And just sitting and reading... wow. That sounds like heaven. I'm going to need a vacation like that after this year. LOL. Enjoy your blog haitus! And BTW, your Ruby book cover is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anita, I love your Splintered cover too!
ReplyDeleteOhh awesome, a psychic reading!
ReplyDeleteHow did that go?
Yes, a good psychic (there are many bogus cons). She actually helped me with a plot snafu I encountered.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful vacation you had! Enjoy your bloggy break. Hope you come back refreshed and rejuvenated. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on vacation in several years, but we used to go to the Corpus Christi on the Gulf of Mexico. Our son wonce caught a huge sailfish, which was exciting. Other times we go to Ruidoso, NM, and to the horse races in the mountains. Lots of fun. After our boys married and moved away, we'd go to California and South Carolina to visit with them. Good memories.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't spell tonight. :(
ReplyDeleteBev, the beach on the Gulf is beautiful, and horse racing in the mountains sounds so daring!
ReplyDeleteHave a good time away. See you when you're back. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Misha. Have a great Labor Day weekend, all!
ReplyDeleteI love telling scary stories around fire. Lovely. Enjoy. Good luck with your super giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMmm, the beach and a few good books? Can you spell "heaven"? You'd think--being surrounded by beaches--we'd find heaven more often, but goodness, getting out the door? That's like marching through a waist-deep bog around here.
ReplyDeleteLee, yeah, we bought a copper fire pit so we can have a fire pit in our backyard now!
ReplyDeleteCrystal, I hear you. I packed to go on a Labor Day weekend venture, and I got out the door three hours after I planned. At least I GOT out the door.
Sounds like an exciting trip! Good luck with the giveaway.
