HOA_FINAL-ebooksm

The streets of Arcania are overrun with crime, deteriorating as a madman named Fortune makes himself at home. He shows no mercy, striking down anyone in his path – including Nova Benson’s little sister. Devastated, Nova vows to seek justice for her family, but aside from her freak strength and impenetrable skin, how is she supposed to stop a monster like Fortune?

Cole Warner wants to help people. Entrusted to keep his family’s secret, he’s also frustrated at having to hide his gift. He knows he could do more to help in the fight against Fortune. If he could convince his sister Penelope to join him, they might even have a chance at beating him. When Cole meets Nova, he realizes his whole world is about to change. And he’s going to welcome it with open arms.

Falling for each other wasn’t part of the plan.

Then again, neither was becoming a superhero.

Fortunes Favor_FINAL-ebooksm

Nova will learn it takes more than sheer strength to be a superhero. Her world implodes when Fortune strikes back for all the trouble she’s caused. His dangerous games put everyone around her at risk, especially when he decides to turn Arcania against its precious Heroes. Nova wants to protect Arcania, but how does she save a city that doesn’t want her help?

Cole has no idea how to deal with his sister Penelope, especially now that she’s learned the truth about their family secret. Thanks to Fortune, she’s headed down a dark path, one with no return. Torn between helping Nova and protecting his sister, Cole will be forced to make a choice. Tensions rise as Cole and Nova discover war will come to Arcania if they don’t get Fortune off the streets…or preferably six feet under.

Nova and Cole might have each other, but will they lose everything else in their mission to save Arcania?

Unbreakable_FINAL-ebooks,

Nova started the fight against Fortune for simple revenge, but now it’s turned into something much bigger. Arcania’s criminals are at each other’s throats, putting the city right in the middle of a warzone. She’ll have to work with a few unlikely allies to end Fortune’s games once and for all. Nova thought she understood what it meant to be a superhero, but will she have to lose herself to truly defeat Fortune?

Fortune has given Cole a choice, one with unbearable consequences. When Cole takes matters into his own hands to save his sister Penelope, he realizes too late he’s another pawn in Fortune’s games. Fortune will use Cole’s gift against his enemies…including Nova. Cole will have to become the hero he always wanted to be if he’s going to protect the love of his life.

Nova and Cole could finally save Arcania from Fortune’s deadly games, but are they willing to sacrifice each other?

Hot wings burning up the blogs-Cherie's astounding cover art for Reborn!

Fellow Untethered Realm author, Cherie Reich's new epic fantasy, Reborn comes out on May 23rd, but in the meantime the blogs have been burning up with her astounding cover reveal. I mean, seriously, I have never seen a more beautiful pair of wings on a magical bird. Like everrrrr.
Makes you want to read the book! Put it on your Goodreads TBR list. Or if you'd rather be notified via Cherie's newsletter, sign up.
And let's hear some applause for her cover artist, Laura Sava. *enthusiastic cheers and claps*

To save a kingdom, a prophetess must challenge Fate.

On the day of Yssa’s death and rebirth, the god Apenth chose her as the Phoenix Prophetess. Sea serpents and gods endanger the young prophetess’s journey and sour the omens. Yssa is cursed instead of blessed, and her duties at the Temple of Apenth prove it. She spends her days reading dusty scrolls, which does nothing to help her forget Tym, the boy back home. But the annoying yet gorgeous ferryman’s son Liam proves to be a distraction she can’t predict, even though he rarely leaves her alone for two sand grains.

Her boring temple life screeches to a halt when visions of her parents’ murders consume her. Yssa races across an ocean to stop the future. If she can’t change Fate, she’ll refuse to be the Phoenix Prophetess any longer. Fate, however, has other plans for her and the kingdom.

Yssa must either accept her destiny or fight to change Fate.

A self-proclaimed bookworm, Cherie Reich is a speculative fiction writer, freelance editor, book blogger, and library assistant living in Virginia. Her short stories have appeared in magazines and anthologies, and her ebooks include the horror series Nightmare, a space fantasy trilogy titled Gravity, and a fantasy series The Foxwick Chronicles. Hi everyone. I'm excited because today is the cover reveal for my new adult romance novella, Model Position! Inkspell's cover artist, Najla has outdone herself. Here are the bloggers participating in the reveal. Stop by to say hi. And thanks to all of you who are helping out. You rock! Stay tuned for the book's launch on February 20. In the meantime, you can Like my Kitsy Clare FB page and my newsletter to get updates.

Gratitude list & Kitsy Clare on Love Romances Cafe

Happy New Year! It's a popular time to make resolutions, though I prefer to make a gratitude list and a fresh work plan.

Topping my list is the extreme gratitude I feel for getting back to the USA after two nerve-wracking days stuck in the Dominican Republic airport. Ack, I was trying to fly Jetblue during that snow fiasco!

I have gratitude that my new novella, Model Position is going forward with Inkspell using my romance pseudonym, Kitsy Clare. Inkspell authors will be chatting about all things romance tonight (Jan 10) from 7 to 9 pm on Yahoo's Love Romances Cafe, and you're all invited to drop by!

For Sienna, love and art are perilous games. Is she ready to take that gamble? The cover reveal for Model Position is on for January 20! I'll give anyone who wants to participate in the cover reveal virtual hugs and a big, fat virtual box of delicious chocolates with no icky jelly centers--only the caramel and hazelnut ones. If you're interested in helping out with the reveal, please email my publisher, Shilpa at marketing@inkspellpublishing.com

I'm also grateful that I immediately came up with a wicked fun plot for novella #2, Private Internship, to keep the Art of Love series going strong, because sometimes it takes a while to think up good plots. I'm looking forward to tying up the last third of the story with some crazy switchback plot twists.

I had fun creating a new Facebook author page for Kitsy Clare. Click to see it. What do you think? The new book cover will appear on the right side of the FB banner on the day of the cover reveal. I'd be thrilled if you Like my author page! That way, you can be informed of the Model Position launch, giveaways and tours.
Thanks! That's it for me. How about you? What are you grateful for?

Indie Life, Reaching your Readers! Plus the Launch of Fairchild's Diamonds & Dust

Today is Indie Life, a feature devised by the lovely Indelible authors. It takes place the second Wednesday of each month, where they invite fellow authors to chat about the indie writing life.

In prepping for the February launch of my new adult romance novella, Model Position, I've been thinking about effective ways to get the word out to readers. Methods of the day change so fast it's dizzying. Reminds me of how Apple and other digital companies are always launching upgrades. But one must keep up; it's an industry essential, indie or not. I think a blog tour is still advisable, or at least a cover reveal and book blitz. Reviews matter, and it's smart to get arcs out to people who are eager to read and review. I've done Netgalley with good results. Another reader site is Wattpad.  I have yet to do a Facebook event, which I will do for Model Position. I have yet to put together a street team--intimidating without a zillion hours a day to devote to it. I'm thinking of hiring an intern... maybe in the new year? Those who have done street teams, how has it gone? I know two authors who hired publicists. I'd have to barter the cost because it's expensive! Though one colleague got TV interviews and the other landed an interview in the Atlantic. Not too shabby! I'll be exploring Yahoo chats and similar venues for my new novella, trying to reach the readers of my genre. What have you all found most effective to get the word out?

Book 1 of the
Jewels of Chandra series
Another creative indie move is to join up with a group of like-minded authors to cross promote. That's how the Indelibles formed. I joined Untethered Realms, an author group who writes speculative fiction. On that note, I'd like to mention the launch of Untethered Realmer, River Fairchild's new novel, Diamonds and Dust!

Magic is real. So is betrayal.
Two heirs. A Kingdom of dust on a troubled world. One might resurrect it. One might destroy it all. Archaeologist David Alexander investigates the cave where his father disappeared and hurtles into another world, one filled with magic and bizarre creatures. The mad ravings in his father's journals of icemen and dragons may not be fantasies after all.
Convinced his father may still be alive, David begins a treacherous journey to find him and discover a way home. Along the way, he encounters a few unlikely friends. A Dreean warrior, a beautiful thief and a satyr join him as he searches. David's arrival into this new world sets off an explosive chain reaction of events. Faced with powerful adversaries and few clues, he may not get the chance to rescue his father before disaster strikes, condemning both of them to death. Or worse.

River Fairchild brandishes a dry sense of humor, and is owned by several cats. Lives in a fantasy world. A fabricator of magic. Makes stuff up and spins tales about it. Believes in Faerie crossings and never stays in one place for very long. Speculative Fiction wordsmith. The secret to her stories? Spread lies, blend in truths, add a pinch of snark and a dash of tears. Escape into her world. She left the porch light on so you can find your way down the rabbit hole.

Award News, Ruby's Fire Cover Reveal & I teach at Philly Writers' Conference June 7, 8 & 9

Fireseed One just won a Wishing Shelf Bronze Book Award! The Wishing Shelf Award is a unique one because it's decided in large part by high school students. Students in the UK and Sweden voted for their favorite books. A big thanks to these participating schools: Worsley Bridge Primary School, Rokesly Junior School, Montpelier Primary School, Meadlands Primary School, St George the Martyr Primary School, Gainsborough Primary School, Gospel Oak Primary School, Mossfrd Green Primary School & Pelham Primary School.

I will teach Writing and Publishing Teen Fiction at the Philadelphia Writers' Conference on June 7, 8 & 9. This is always a fun and informative event, located in Philly's historic old city, near the Ben Franklin Museum and the Liberty Bell. For more details and info on registration, click here.

The cover for Ruby's Fire is officially done! Xpresso Tours is setting up a cover reveal blitz. I will have a book launch in June (and a tour with Xpresso in July and Aug). There will be a sign up for anyone who wants to help celebrate. Stay tuned. I will also be featuring the cover artist Jay Montgomery on Idea City.

Tomorrow, I'll have a left knee replacement. Yipes! I did way too many step aerobics classes, and jumped up on way too many high risers. No cartilage left. So, if it takes me a couple days to get back online, you'll know why. A heads-up to those who are jumping on pogo sticks, and rollerblading or running on hard asphalt--protect your knees.
Mad love for the online community, and for those indie authors and book bloggers who have already blurbed Ruby's Fire. Thank you!

Susan K. Quinn's Cover Reveal and Lots of Prizes!

Free Souls by Susan Kaye Quinn
(Book Three of the Mindjack Trilogy) Now Available!
When your mind is a weapon, freedom comes at a price.
Four months have passed since Kira left home to join Julian’s Jacker Freedom Alliance, but the hole in her heart still whistles empty where her boyfriend Raf used to be. She fills it with weapons training, JFA patrols, and an obsessive hunt for FBI agent Kestrel, ignoring Julian’s worries about her safety and repeated attempts to recruit her for his revolutionary chat-casts. When anti-jacker politician Vellus surrounds Jackertown with the National Guard, Kira discovers there’s more to Julian’s concerns than she knew, but she’s forced to take on a mission that neither want and that might be her last: assassinating Senator Vellus before he can snuff out Julian’s revolution and the jackers she’s come to love.
All of the Mindjack stories are available on Amazon, Barnes&Noble, Kobo, and iTunes (Note Free Souls is not yet available on Kobo or iTunes)
Early Praise for Free Souls
“Quinn paints a picture of a not-too-distant America where politicians inflame the hatred of one section of the populace for another—all for their own gain—and you worry that her world is not so far off from our own.”
Dianne Salerni, author of We Hear the Dead, The Caged Graves, and the forthcoming The Eighth Day
"Free Souls starts with a bang and doesn't let up. Like a mash-up of all your favorite science-fiction adventures from Star Wars to The Legend of Korra, it blends nonstop action, nail-biting escapes, and great romance. I absolutely loved it! A great series conclusion—a must-read."
Leigh Talbert Moore, author of Rouge and The Truth About Faking
“Susan did it again. Free Souls was WOW! I expected Kira to step up to her role as heroine but not like this. Surprises kept coming until the very end which tied up more loose ends than I knew existed. Warning: Don't start reading until you have time to finish. I didn't want to put Free Souls down for a second. It's that kind of book.”
Sher A. Hart, Goodreads Review
Interview Susan's over at Amy Saunder's blog today (12.14.12), answering questions about how she came up with the mages' abilities, what kind of mage she would be, and all about her future works.
